Default BB advice for a lady, first time user

Please Login to Remove!

I have finally managed to convinced my wife to go in for a BB to save myself from SMS costs and other inconveniences. She has tried my Bold 9700 and feels the keypad is very tightly spaced and complicated. I was thinking of showing her the Bold 9000 but would appreciate all other suggestions. All she needs is a nice keypad and compact size. Thanks in advance.

Keep in mind that to use BBM, you need a BB data plan. that could be more expensive than SMS.

I think he is thinking about sms cost is way more. Because BBM is unlimited across networks. Its possible that they are on diff providers. At least thats how my houshold config is.

It is rude to post unrelated questions in another user's thread.

yes, we are on different providers. besides after using BBM one gets used to sending a yes or a no without thinking . With a SMS each message is counted and paid for.

I havent handled the Torch yet, but isnt it too big and bulky. Maybe some actual users will comment.

It's smaller than the Iphone. I would say it's the size of average mobiles nowadays.

Try the curve I used to have the 8520 and I still love the keypad more than the 9700's.

Look at the new BlackBerry Pearl 3G. Compact design with condensed keyboard that is very easy to type on. Sounds like a fit for her.
