There's an icon that says password lock, and I have it on, but I don't know how to turn that off, and I don't want the phone to keep locking itself.

Backup. There is an icon to lock the device, and then there is a password function that must be enabled to be able lock it.

If your device is password enabled, is locking when the time out expires, and you want to change that, you need to provide some more info. For instance, is it a blackberry that has been issued to you?

It is locking when the time out expires, and I want to disable that...how do I do it?

The same way the password was enabled.... In the password settings page in the device options. You must know the password to disable it. If it is a device that was issued to you then you very likely will not be able to disable it or change the timeout period.

I know what you're talking about but in the options enable and disable it appears with a lock and i cant change them...how do i get rid of the lock?

See post #4 again. You may not be able to disable it depending on the answer to the question in post #2.

If the blackberry was issued to you and controlled by an IT policy, then you need to at least talk to your admin, and you will probably find that you are not allowed to disable it, that if you do disable it you will be violating secuirty rules, and the it will be locked again.
