Singtel's BB connect software is NOT available for general download

http://home.singtel.com/upload_hub/consumer/treo650.htm

probably had to wait for leaks.

Folks,

The SingTel Software can be downloaded (especially if you have an UNSIMLOCKED 650) at Palm's SingTel BlackBerry Connect Software Link (Darn you, BBForums, for not letting me post a URL):

However, it looks like it needs a SingTel-based Serial Number for a Treo in order to download. Does someone have that? Can they post the installer?

Weird. I didn't see it as available for download anywhere on the Palm Singtel site. Maybe they removed it?

Yep. I posted the link above:

http://www.palm.com/sg/software/blac.../download.html

It is a Palm site for the BBC software. You have to register in order to download the software. Here is the link to the Installation and Cofiguration Guide.

Valid treo 650 serial numbers are 12 characters in length.

Try useing PTGG as the first 4 charaters of your serial number, e.g. PTGGxxxxxxxx .

This worked for me.

Is tha a prerequisite for installation? I didn't see that anywhere in the documentation.

So I've managed to download the software and install it on my treo - I've run the BB Connect Desktop and it created an encryption key.

On the device I've opened the Email client and see to have setup the BBC account but it keeps showing a "Disconnected" status.

Anyone have any luck actually connecting to GPRS/EDGE?

So it works. I have cingular, had them add the "blackberry connect unlimited plan" (SOC code KRB4) - i.e. this is the plan you're supposed to use with the Nokia 9300.

As far as I know this only works with BES. I use mailstreet for hosted exchange.

I have firmware 1.71 and treo650-1.20-ENA on my 650. This is a cingular treo that has been unbranded but NOT unlocked.

It took a long time for the sync via the USB cable to install the service books, but after that everything magically worked.

More details later. Have to run out the door now.

It works!!

So, wait, you installed the 1.20 ENA ROM on top of the 1.71 Cingular ROM and it worked? I have got to give that a try.

I reverted back to the released Cingular 1.51 firmware / Treo650-1b.17-CNG software and it also works. So far I can't see a difference between CNG and ROW(i.e. ENA) firmware.

So what this sounds like it that it just plain works. Cool. I may have to give this a try.

How is the power consumption v. Chatter and/or other mail clients?
