Question Sprint BB8330 Gone???

Please Login to Remove!

I was looking on Sprint dot com and i don't see the 8330 there. I've tried 3 different zip codes and nothing. The Zip codes I tired are 37013, 63115 and 63121. Is this phone on the EOL list or been pull temporarily or something? Just curious. I already have mine.

I just looked and used a few zip codes of my own and did not see the 8330 either. Maybe this means that Sprint is releasing the Bold now ;) We could at least start the rumor!

Sorry, wish it were true, but they are taking the phone off in order to upgrade the remaining phones to 4.5 software.

They did the same thing with the Motorola Q9c, and the Samsung Ace when they upgraded it to Windows Mobile 6.1

So I can still get the 8330 from Sprint? I was about to purchase it....it was there one day, and gone the next.

Didn't show up for me either. I called and they told me it was just out of stock. No ETA. I asked if it was being replaced and the rep said no, but what does he know.

Our account rep for our business just told us that the 8330 was discontinued but did not know of a replacement yet?

I assume they would either get the Bold or the 8900?

Seriously, this is the most recent BB Sprint offers. Why would they discontinue this model when they still have the 8830 and the 8130 which were both released prior to the 8330. Not to mention on their Nextel side they are still offering the 7100i. That device is OLD. This just doesn't add up.

I was told today by Sprint that the 8330 has been taken off because they are "refreshing them and giving them a new chipset". I was told it will be back on the website 3/20 and it's still the 8330 and still the same price.
So this tells me they are upgrading them to 4.5 and it is still the Curve 8330 and not another (newer) model. Strange still, that they would remove it from the website for a couple weeks.

I am waiting to get one so if I can get an updated model, even better. Only 5 days to wait.

My rep informed me that they pulled them to get the remaining ones left in stock up to 4.5 OS. They did the same thing with the MotoQ9c a while back going from Windows Mobile 6.0 to 6.1.

You may want to double check with your rep. The 8330 has not been discontinued, but the 8130 will be going end of life soon.

And when they release the Bold, you can bet the 8830 will also be discontinued.

Our rep is useless.

Any idea when it will be back in stock?

Default 8330

Contacted Sprint to inquire as to the company's plans to release a Sprint version of the Bold or Storm. Should have known that a definitive answer would not be provided. They did say that "Sprint has a number of new phones that will be released in the first quarter of '09". I inquired if any would be Rim products and they were not able to confirm or deny.

Even my independent Sprint reselller appears to be clueless regarding any anticipated offerings. Do they keep their people in the dark? I recently upgrated to an 8330 and would have held off until the introduction of the Bold.

I cannot confirm whether they are coming out with new BlackBerries or not, but what happened with the Curves is strange to me.

They pulled the normal 8330s and have replaced them with 8330m. They look and feel just like a normal Curve, but are not recognized by the Desktop Software/AppLoader as the same device. Still investigating as to what all the differences are.

Is the "s" or "m" designation on the phone itself?

Sorry. The S was just to make it plural. So it's 8330 VS 8330m. New model, same memory, comes with 4.5 preloaded. Still investigating.
