Yo Apache... Since you keep talking about the Cloud like you are an expert when it comes to Cloud computing I figured we can play a little game...

Here is a Cloud application written in PHP... Please tell me what is wrong with this script and why it's busted....

Yes I was bored but hey.... tick tock Apache "the Cloud expert" I await your findings...

Thanks buddy... Love ya and still want to know if you will father my children...

Now without further ado.... Here is the Cloud script written in PHP...
Code:
# {
#     //pass through
#     $i=0;
#     foreach($tags as $tag)
#     {
#         $id = $tag['id']; //the tag id, passed through
# $name = $tag['tag']; //the tag name, also passed through in the array
#
#         $sql = "SELECT COUNT(*) FROM WHERE tags LIKE '%".$id."%' AND published = 1";
#
# //create the resultset and return it
#         $res = mysql_query($sql);
#         $res = mysql_fetch_assoc($res);
#
#         //check there are results ;)
#         if($res)
#         {
# //build an output array, with the tag-name and the number of results
#             $output[$i]['tag'] = $name;
#             $output[$i]['num'] = $res['totalnum'];
#         }
#
#         $i++;
#     }
#
#     $total_tuts = $this->getNumber();
#
#     $html = '<ul class="tagcloud">';
#
# //iterate through each item in the $output array (created above)
#     foreach($output as $tag)
#     {
# //get the number-of-tag-occurances as a percentage of the overall number
#         $ratio = (100 / $total_tuts) * $tag['num'];
#
# //round the number to the nearest 10
#         $ratio =  round($ratio,-1);
#
# /*append onto the list-item, so if the result was 20%, it comes out as cloud-20*/
#         $html.= '<li class="cloud-'.$ratio.'"><a href="/tag/'.$tag['tag'].'">'.$tag['tag'].'</a></li>';
#     }
#
#     //close the UL
#     $html.= '</ul>';
#
#     return $html;
# }
I await your expert and knowledgeable response oh great one... Oh and after telling my why it's a broken script, how about telling me what it's suppose to do tennis shoe....

Oh, I'll read this. It is always entertaining to listen to the "logic" that racists and sexists can manage to drum up.

More to the point, if a better device comes along that meets my needs and offers the security that I demand then I will switch to it. But that sure isn't Google, at least not for the foreseeable future.

What? That's it? No comment on your precious Google's data outage, ApacheIndian? Sad.

Ah. Got it. I missed that as a possible translation, but it sounds spot on.

I figured as much... You rave about Cloud yet don't have a single clue how it operates, it's strengths and more importantly it's weaknesses...

Your credibility before was in the dumps, now it's zero...

How can you come here and proclaim something is the savior, the greatest thing since microwave popcorn when you don't even have the slightest clue about it???

Not that I'm a fan of Apache, but I've been saying this for awhile. RIM could end up being the next Palm if they don't move faster in the ever evolving handheld market. RIM's single point of failure, their NOC, will be their undoing. They need to spread out their operations and make them redundant x100, like Google does. RIM seems to be doing well right now and must be racking in tons of money. What do they have to show for it. OS 5 that was promised for about a year and delivered very few new features. A NOC that seems to go down several times a year and a new form factor every few months that is about as awe inspiring as a new coffee mug. RIM is king now because they are offered all over the world and on just about every network. As Android takes hold and the Apple/ATT deal ends, RIM sales will nosedive, especially in the desirable consumer market where the most money is.

Look..... I think the Tour is a POS and I had the Droid for a while.. Heck if it was not for the KB and a few other things on the Droid I might have stuck with it.. For now I am loving the Curve2...

Apache's problem is that he talks about things he knows nothing about. He praises Cloud like there is no tomorrow yet he knows nothing about it... Cloud is perhaps the future but it has a very long way to go and has some serious issues before it can ever be considered as a reliable and secure tool..

If he would simply gripe about the Tour I'd agree with him as I hate that thing.. It's slow, it takes 5 years to boot and did I mention how slow it is? I have a Tour that's been collecting dust in a drawer for 3 months now and I have NO interest in using it...

He screwed the pooch when he started attacking respected members of the BBF with racial and gender slurs...

If he wants to gripe about the Tour thats fine... But when he starts comparing the BB OS to other things he thinks are better he could at least know what he is talking about... And.... He could do so with an open mind and without attacking other members with racial and gender slurs....

My .02

Kris

Don't forget that Google's "redundant x100" operations has failed.

So that would make it as awe inspiring as the form factor changes to Apple's iPhone, right? I wonder what next year's iPhone will look like, and if it will be the fourth year of the same tired design...

Google's network is still more reliable then RIMs and yes the iPhone design is tired and in need of a refresh.

The OS upgrade on the Tour improved the speed and reduced the boot time significantly.
