Default Carrier cannot register my device on the network

Please Login to Remove!

Hi,

I am new on the forum and was wondering if anyone could assist because my carrier cannot.
I had a BB 8900 Curve which i replaced yesterday with a Bold 9000 and now cannot register the device on the carrier network. Calls etc are fine, just BIS will not. My previous 8900 worked fine? I have been on the phone with the carrier the entire day and they have not been able to resolve it. All i did was change the device in the BIS website and now it is broken.

Any ideas?

Your bis account may still be attatched to the old device, that's what I'm thinking.

You will have to register a new one with your new device.

Was the Bold 9000 brand new or has it been already registered. If it is registered to another carrier, you will need to have the previous owner have their carrier remove it.

thanks for the feedback, the bold 9000 is brand new and not already registered. How would I register a new one?

You go onto your carrier's BIS web site and log in.
Make sure that the information is correct there.
Then resend the service books and it will work.

Is the new 9000 from the same carrier?

Thanks NJ, the new BB B9000 is from the same carrier yes. In terms of resending service books, been there done that a few hundred times. Also tried registering through HRT but no joy.

Did you go to the BIS site and change the PIN to that of the new device as NJBlackBerry noted?
