Vodafone UK instruction for unlocking 7100 series.
You need a valid Vodafone UK SIM in the phone when you are doing this.
I guess it's the same instructions as posted by others but with an alternative description. Vodafone will provide the NUC code based on your IMEI.

1. Using the thumbwheel, scroll to settings and select, scroll to SIM Card and select
2. Press and hold hash key (on the right hand side of the space bar) and press the M key once, press the ER key once, press the OP key twice then then press the arrow key (bottom left on the keypad) to display 123 entry mode
3. Release the hash key and press the TY button. You are now prompted to enter the Network MEP code
4. Enter the code and hit the enter key (bottom right of the keypad)
5. The device should then be unlocked

Once you have an unlcok code, do the following:

T-Mobile Sim Unlock Request
Sim Unlock Reference: 0xxxx
IMEI: xxxxxxxxxxxx
Unlock Code: xxxxxxxxxxx

Thank you for taking the time to contact T-Mobile. Below you will see the Instructions for unlocking your Blackberry device.

NOTE: If you receive an error message while performing the instructions below, stop. Please be aware that if an excessive amount of incorrect attempts are made, the phone will be permanently locked. Verify the IMEI by pressing *#06# and submit a new request.

Warning! The Wireless Mode MUST BE OFF before performing the given SIM Unlock instructions in order to avoid causing the device from becoming defective.

How to turn Wireless Mode Off:
1. Scroll to the Airplane Icon (Turn Wireless Off.)
2. Press Select.
3. Wireless Mode will turn off.
4. REMOVE the SIM card
5. Power On the Device (Put the Battery back in)

How to SIM Unlock the device:
1. Go to the "Tools" screen
2. Select "Settings"
2. Select the "SIM Card" option
3. Type MEPPD
4. It should then display a list "SIM, Network, Network Subset, etc..."
5. To select "Network" type MEPP Alt-2
6. It should then ask for the code
7. Enter the unlock code

Thank You,

Sim Unlock Department
T-Mobile USA, Inc.

I have corrected the instructions to operate correctly as directed by tier 2 technical support.

It works!! My phone is SIM unlocked. I tested it with an ATT SIM and it worked just fine.
I am having problems entering step 5. it does not ask for code. I type MEPP then then alt key and the number 2 and nothing, any ideas????

Default blackberry Network Lock unlocking code

No one can't just send you unlocking code other then your service providers.
as NJ says each code is unique . in some case code is length of 15 strings. you
have to enter them manually. there are so many post on this fourm about unlocking blackberry . there are few guys who can do remotely such as cellularclinic.com or bongowireless. check them out

You have to find one of the commercial (pay) unlockers to do it. There are many of them now.

You can either contact T-Mobile and ask them for the code, or pay one of the commercial unlockers (there are several) to unlock it for you. No one here has the magical ability to unlock a BB.

Exclamation Blackberry 7290

I have a huge question. I bought a 7290 off of ebay. The auction said unlocked, cingular network, etc... I checked feedback and everything. I got it - put my SIM in (I had a cingular V3 Razr) and it doesn't recognize the SIM. I even went as far as buying an unlock code last night and it won't even let me enter that - even going through all the MEP2, etc... stuff.. Do you guys have any suggestions at all?
I am getting desperate!
