Default Kindle for Torch?

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone get this to work? Amazon doesn't support it yet, and their download page doesn't recognize the new browser on the Torch under 6.0, so you can't even download it. I've tried unsuccessfully to back it up from my earlier Bold 9700 version through the Desktop Manager but not dice so far.

Almost every app I ran under the Bold 9700 5.0 works, sometimes even better, and even when the App maker disclaims and doesn't support it yet. I know Amazon already supports the Storm II touchscreen, so this shouldn't be that difficult. And they'll have to get with the program sooner or later because RIM is going to roll out 6.0 from here on, and even make it available to older, Amazon Kindle supported models.

Is there an option to download it to your computer? if so you could try it that way.

Default Got it!

Turns out, I was able to access a backed up copy of Kindle for BlackBerry from the 6.0 Desktop Manager and to install it and it now works! I guess it picked it up from one of my BSAK back-ups. But it works! I did have to delete a few books and re-download, but then its fine and with the larger screen and landscape or portrait option, an improvement over an already valued app.

Found this link under the kindle forums at Amazon:

http://klamath.s3.amazonaws.com/r2b/kindle.jad

I tried it out and was able to install the Kindle app on my torch. Works really well too. Love being able to change pages with either a stroke to the screen, or to the touch pad (my preference).

Default Tried

Installed Kindle yesterday and it gave the same errors while trying to update the permissions (my device is connected to BES).

Strangely it started working today and was able to purchase and read a book.

I used this link & got Kindle to load my Torch. But had to delete titles & reload from archives. However the format does not change from portrait to landscape when I move the sreen. Any idea how I can fix that?

Thumbs up Kindle for Torch?

Kindle was installed during the transfer to my new Torch. However, books that I had in my archive would not load for me. The fix was to go to the Amazon site and remove my listed devices. Then I had Amazon send the link to download to my phone using SMS. After downloading using the link I found all of my books in the archive on the phone and could install readable copies to the home screen. When I went back to the Kindle page on Amazon I found "Dave's Blackberry 9800" as an installed device.
Kindle was good on my 8900 but is better for reading on my Torch...
