Nate, no need to get nasty. What he was saying was a "quick response."

It's a good idea to research for an answer because all kinds of info can be obtained, such as install problems, quirks, etc.

IMHO it's not reasonable to expect people to answer that which has already been discussed.

On that note: I don't think you should be concerned about which version of OS works, simply install the latest OS which will work on any Pearl, regardless of carrier.

See the sticky above on installing the latest OS. I installed it on my October 2006 Pearl [T-Mo] and it works fine. You can be up and running with 4GB in no time.

Nate, I see you are new here so I'll cut you some slack. I see you edited your post (great idea because that language is not allowed here). However, Cory is right. 4 posts above yours is one that says "I had the 4GB working on 4.2.1.94."

I just received my 4GB Micro SD card and inserted into my pearl. I love the higher capacity.

I won't throw apples at you, but how about rotten fish?

No, will not work. Upgrade to the latest OS, which is in the sticky on the main 8100 page.

Note that if you read this thread carefully, I too have the T-Mo Pearl. I upgraded to the latest OS and the 4Gb works.

T-Mo's site does NOT have the latest OS and ANY operating system for the Pearl will work with your T-Mo Pearl [because a Pearl is a Pearl and is not dependent on carrier. In other words, the carrier is not the one putting out the OS, they are from RIM].

Thanks SanFrancisco! After posting I edited to "Nevermind I'll wait" as I realized I had to upgrade. I will have to wait as I am on the road and on a time crunch. Thanks for the fish

another edit....
also thanks for the info on the carrier dependent thing. I usually never go and get something out of the service providers links but in reading the other posts...what the heck I'll do it too.

It's too long. I only read page 1, 5, and 6.

You mean the only way to get 4GB to work on a T-mobile Blackberry 8100 Pearl is to use another carrier's OS?

That is correct. You can actually use 4.2.1.94 on up.

I think the reason why RIM is not making this a BIG news about Pearl using 4GB is because you need the latest OS for it to work.

They don't want tons of people calling RIM saying that it did not work.

Very possible. Next question is why is it taking so long for TMo to come out with an upgrade? (for another thread, though, I suppose)
