Hello everybody,

I finally succeeded compiling a separate Application (.alx) which can be Installed simply by Desktop Manager to any Blackberry Storm 9500 running the latest to date OS version 4.7.0.172, which adds Russian Input and Support to the handheld. It is a complete Russian language pack - character support including BB Maps, voice dialling, input keyboard etc.

Sorry that it's not an active link, but I haven't posted enough times, yet.

Then:
1. Unzip at any desired location on your harddrive
2. Connect your Storm 9500 to the computer, using the USB cable;
3. Start Desktop Manager;
4. Make a Backup, just in case;
5. Start Application Loader -> Add/Remove Applications -> Browse to the unzipped Folder Location -> Open Folder Russian Input Storm 9500 OS4.7.0.172 -> Select file Russian Input Storm 9500 OS4.7.0.172.alx
6. Install
7. Wait until the device restart.

From that moment you can simply choose Russian for example when you write an email.

Attention! This application has been installed 100% successfully on my device only. I cannot guarantee that it will work on others. You choose to download and install the application at your own risk and responsibility!

One last reminder - this application will only work on Storm 9500 handheld devices running OS: 9500 4.7.0.172 / 4.7.0.122 (English + East Asian). If you try to install it on any other OS, it will kill the OS, resulting Error:523 at restart

Thank's for the app man. I've just tried to my BB Storm and it works, yeah there is no russian language but russian input is pretty fine.
But I'm still dreaming about real bulgarian input and eventualy language support.
My storm is equiped with the last version from Vodafone UK 4.7.0.195/4.7.0.141.

With some help from other forums and data I have now extended the version that was posted here. Now language support as in word recognition etc. is also supported. I run a 9500 with 4.7.0.141 and it works.

Is there any way to update this download so it will work on a 9530 running 4.7.0.148 OS? I have been looking all over the Blackberry website and there is no information that I can find specific to my device. I would be greatly appreciative.
Though I understand that Verizon is kinda (read really) screwy with their phones.

Please help!!! I've recently switched from 8830, had Russian installed there w/o problems. Unfortunately, the file I still have, won't work for 9630.

I just bought my wife a BB Storm 2 which has OS version 5.0.1, and she needs Russian input for texting friends and family back home.

Any idea if this app will do it... or is there one out there that will???
