Default GSM Device for Hearing Aid Users?

Please Login to Remove!

Anyone heard of a GSM BB that will be hearing aid compatible in telecoil mode? I don't mind using the microphone mode, other than the fact that background noise makes it more difficult for me to hear. My hearing is bad enough. I'm using a 7250 CDMA from Bell, but I would much rather be on the Rogers service (cheaper!).

I use the 7250 from Bell Mobility which works well. Generally most CDMA BB's will work with hearing aid telecoils. Most BB's I find work on the Microphone mode too.

I am very familiar with the ELI, but quite pricey here in Canada. About $350-400 for the whole thing. Doesn't include the neckloop either. I was hoping to not have to buy something that costs the same as a 3yr bb package.

Yeah, I hate having to pay up just to get a step closer to equal access.

On a positive note, it's likely to be compatible with other phones or equipment than just your current Blackberry.

True enough. Supposedly all Bluetooth phones are capable of enslaving the ELI, but upon contacting Starkey, they never actually did the testing for those devices.
