Default Quick question on T-Mobile Pearl for Cingular

Please Login to Remove!

Quick question please.... I have been reading about Cingular Pearl. People say that it will have GPS, PTT and other features t-mobile doesn't have. I wonder if these features are software dependable or hardward dependable.

I'm Cingular subscriber but I'm using t-mobile unlocked. I'm wonder if I should return it and wait for Pearl from Cingular. Or once Cingular OS comes out, I can upgrade the OS and have all the features Cingular Pearl has.

Hope this makes sense to you all.... Thank you....

T-Mobile is capable of GPS now as long as your have an external bluetooth GPS receiver. If you do a search, you will find that Jibi has modified a platform ALX file so that you can use PTT feature already. I would say if you have already spent the money getting it unlocked, then you should probably just hang on to what you have.

Thank you very much for your reply. I actually bought the phone from t-mobile store and t-mobile unlocked team gave me the unlock code. So I didn't pay extra for the unlock. I have 30 days under the return policy. I paid full price for this phone. I'm thinking as long as the difference between T-mobile Pearl and Cingular Pearl is just the cosmetic, I might just forget about waiting for Cingular Pearl and start enjoy the Pearl I have right now.

The only difference will be cosmetic between the Cingular version and the T-Mobile version.

Precisely! You've done a great job of purchasing the Pearl and having it unlocked for free! Thereby saving a lot of time and money.

So, no more second guessing, just enjoy that Terrific new Pearl you have!

I feel certain that you will be able to do whatever you wish with that model. Also if future models come out with more features that you would like, you benefit as you can continue to use the one you have while waiting for them to work out the bugs in the new models.

That's what I'm going to do. I'm waiting for the 8800, however I will continue to use and enjoy my 7130c and 8700c until the "second round" of that model is shipped.

Then I will purchase an 8800 after they have been out for a few months and the rolling changes and bug fixes are done.
