Default Exchange login info and BB web client - no workie.

Please Login to Remove!

My login information looks something like this:

mail.mycompany.com/exchange

In firefox, the user/pass looks like this:
myfirstname
123456

In IE, the user/pass looks like this
companyname\myfirstname
123456

I know that the user account name is my last name, so that the final URL looks like this;
mail.mycompany.com/exchange/mylastname

I have entered my login info in every possible configuration. Any guess as to why I'm not able to login thru the BB web client?

Mail connector is not working for me. It persistently shuts down, we have power outages here, and mail sent to folders doesn't make the cut.

Thanks in advance if anyone has seen and resolved this before.

Im assuming youre trying to setup your BIS email with your Outlook Web Access - if thats the case, have you tried using the https:// at the beginning....it would like this:

https://yadayda.yada.com/yadayada

Try not using your username in the above and if it doesnt work try it with the username.

what version of OWA are you using? OWA 2003 is supported for use only w/ BIS 2.0 - so if your using BIS 1.8 your out of luck

try the following:

url - mail.mycompany.com/exchange
username - companyname\myfirstname
password - 123456
email account\user account - mylastname

Default outlook version

I am using Exchange Server 2003. Is there something I need to ask to be turned on? This could be a problem as I would be the sole BB user here.

I am using Verizon, any clue what version of BIS they are on? I know it is either 2.0 or 2.1, the differences are too subtle for me to tell. So, it should work.

all BIS 2.0 accounts were upgraded to BIS 2.1
so now you have 1.8 (you'll have the inbox) or 2.1

Is this for all carriers? If so, then Im assuming we should be saying BIS2.1 not BIS2.0? If its not, do you mean just on the server side and not on the handheld side?

Thanks.

Default So...

So, obviously I have BIS 2.1 and OWA for Exchange 2003.

Technically, I should be able to login. Is there an Exchange setting I am unaware of?

Thanks,
wil

Wishdemon - your right; it's BIS 2.1 now - not BIS 2.0

wilbret - how much email is in your inbox? if you have more then 900 messages move them to a seperate folder then try adding again. If it still fails call your carrier - and they can't fix it have thme call RIM

Default Not sure how moving messages fixes the problem

BIS no longer has an inbox, it's just a email account management control panel.
I don't have many messages on my handheld or on exchange, either.

I get a couple different errors about being unable to login, etc... I don't even get to create an account for my work email.

Default Resolved. Wow.

Well, as luck would have it... I was trying to setup the BIS account without deleting the mail connector version first. It works now.

Thanks for your input, though.
