Unhappy Problem with AT&T 8300 and new Tmo OS

Please Login to Remove!

I just purchased an unlocked AT&T Curve from one of the forum users here, wiped the device with JL_CMDER (newest version) then downloaded the new latest Desktop Manager for the 8320 from the TMO website as well as the latest OS as announced above. I first installed the DT mgr, then the OS deleting the vendor.xml file after which i restarted my computer, plugged the curve in, launched the DT mgr but the apploader doesn't prompt me to upgrade. I tried the 'add' option as well and located the files here:
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Research In Motion\Shared\Loader Files\8320-v4.2.2.180_P2.5.0.36
i selected the blackberry.alx file but a message came back saying something like: "unable to install the OS because some files are missing"

what the heck am i doing wrong here? is there a compatibility problem between the 8300 (AT&T) and 8320 (TMO) devices and their respective OS? Can anyone help here? Thanks much!!

You can't use the 8320 OS on an 8300.
