Default Not getting incoming calls and e-mail

Please Login to Remove!

I'm using a BB 7280 with ver. 4.0 software and I have a problem whenever I'm at work. I don't get incoming calls or e-mail while I'm at work, calls go stright to voicemail and mail shows up sporadically. I work on a college campus and we have a wirelsess network. Is ti possible that this is interfering with reception. As soon as I leave campus everything works exactly as it should. Is there a fix for this problem? HELP!!!!

Oh my. No, the wireless network is not interfering. Next time you have problems, look at the top row of the BB and see what it shows in the upper right hand corner. It must read GPRS for it to work. It it shows gprs or GSM you can not send or receive e-mail. I bet that your carriers signal is not traveling inside the campus.

Default Any other ideas?

It always says GPRS. I also get this little arrow icon (not the regular send and receive icons) that flashes repeatedly for a few seconds. I've noticed that if I try to call my BB that icon will start flashing then the call will be forwarded to voicemail.

how many bars do you have? i believe you just about have to have 2 or more to be properly functioning (1 bar works, but not really all that good for anything).

Do you change profile settings when at work? Isn't there a Do Not Disturb for the phone which will immediately shift calls to VM?

could it be a signal jammer. I have read that schools and hotels often use jammers to keep phone calls to a minimum.

I work in the Telecom dept. so I know there's nothing like a signal jammer at work. After spending 45minutes on the phone with Cingular tech support they told me that it has to be the SIM card?!?!?!?! They're gonne send me a new one to see if that fixes the problem...
