Default Blackberry Internet Browser Optimal Settings

Please Login to Remove!

Has anyone tweaked out their internet browsers settings and found a really good configuration? I turned on Javascript and Style Script support. Style scripts seem to slow things down a little bit though. I do alot of web browsing, so I would like to hear from some other people who have played around with the browser alot. I'm using the 7250 if it matters. Thanks!

I turn off background images and colors because you can aoways load the image if you really want to see it.

To speed things along, I turn off Embedded Media, JavaScript, and Style Sheets. I used to turn off Background Images, but since I migrated from a 7230 to a 7290, I find the Blackberry Browser is fast enough to leave Background Images on all the time.

I also have Reqwireless WebViewer. It loads JavaScript sites faster and more reliably, so I use it for all the JavaScript sites I visit.

Because all the bells and whistles can slow the Blackberry Browser to a crawl, RIM should consider letting us save some of the option settings with each bookmark. For example, rather than leaving JavaScript on all the time, it could be turned on for the bookmarked sites that need it and turned off for the bookmarked sites that don't need it.

No, I haven't suggested it to RIM -- I just came up with it.

I assume the reason not to do it would be that higher-bandwidth, faster-processor BlackBerries are on the way, so why bother applying a temporary fix.

The counter argument would be that there will always be small-screen formatting options or bandwidth-hogging plug-ins that you would want to apply to some sites and not others.
