Default Desktop Manager 5.0.0 B28 available

I didn't see this posted anywhere else but BlackBerry Desktop Software v5.0 is now officially available from BlackBerry. I don't know what the difference is but I just downloaded it.

I agree with Midnightdraven. Syncing is significantly faster. Going to try to see if syncing via bluetooth will work. I could never get it to work fully before.

Indeed... I have a large contact and appointment database. It used to take for ever for it to read the two databases, and then to synchronize. It now takes well less than half the time. Great stuff.

Synchronizing is literally maybe 10x faster. Other than that, absolutely no differences that I can see.

Does Roxio work ok in this version? That file is huge, 222 MB vs 85 MB without.

Well I'll answer my own question. I get the same issues with Roxio as with prior versions. Very long boot times in XP and the app itself is pretty bloated. Bye bye Roxio.

Am I missing something, or is the Edit button gone...?

Anyway, here's a better link; the first was just the user guide. This is the Release Notes:

Nope, you only have 120 mins to edit your post, otherwise it's locked.

Agree. I only have ~ 1300 contacts, but did a sync before & after update. Before took ~ 2:40, after takes only ~ :10. Granted, there was a reboot in there, but that's freakishly fast vs. the way it was.

Kinda scary... hope it's actually syncing
