Hello guys,

Have a problem with my unlocked 9000, phone work well with EDGE and 3G but when goes in to GSM, it's unreachable. It's not the firmware as i tried all from 4.6 to latest 5 OS

Can GSM be excluded or maybe some parameter that relates to it that I'm missing?

Does it often go down to GSM only? Are you in an extremely poor reception area at the time?

Well i would call it poor, i live just 3 km from the airport and we have several towers here. But phone goes from 3G to Edge down to GSM from time to time.

If outside this area the phone doesn't have reception issues you should contact the carrier and explain the situation. You're using Elisa so you're in.. Finland?

Give them a call, depended on demand is not unusual for carriers to get local gov planning permits and erect either full masts or sector antennas to cover problematic areas.

It can be phone related only if you experience the same issues outside of this specific poor reception area.

If it drops down to GSM on you in areas with good coverage it's the phone. If you're in a known problematic spot in the middle of nowhere it's the network.

I think we've established by now it's the latter case.

Well tried calling them and got pretty straight answer GSM should work, i used Iphone 3g before switching to 9000, never experienced network failure in this region with it before. So let's me to believe it's the blackberry.

Plus when it changes to GSM the signal bar is always on max.
