Default Need some help with unknown BES alert message

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

I am new here and not very familiar with BES, but I hope I can find some help.
The last two days I got some alerts from the BES with the following content.

BlackBerry Messaging Agent XXX Agent 1 (Application Event Log on XXX) | 10/02/2009 06:54:23 (AFFF50A0) -> PMDatabaseSQLImp::PruneUserMessages: COM Error 0x80040E14 - IDispatch error #3092 - Source: "Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server" - Description "The incoming tabular data stream (TDS) remote procedure call (RPC) protocol stream is incorrect. Too many parameters were provided in this RPC request. The maximum is 2100." - Command "D"

I don't know what causes this message, but I guess it has something to do with the BES database? Maybe it is a problem with some rights of the database user? Can anyone help me please to understand and to solve this problem?

We are using BES 4.1.6 with GroupWise. The database is separated from the BES on an MS SQL Server.

Thanks a lot!

Default Found a description for that error with possible solution

After deeper researching for this error message I found the following.

One part of the BES alert message contains this statement:

In the Microsoft KB article 973103 you can find more informations and a solution for this problem.

The article you can find here:

support.microsoft.com/kb/973103

The solution seems to be the installation of the cumulative update package 5 for SQL server 2005 service pack 3.
Some more information about that can be found here:
support.microsoft.com/kb/972511/LN/

I got the info from our database admins, that our sql server isn't up to date yet. So they will have to install this package.

Hope this can help anyone else who runs into the same error message.

Default Possible "solution"

As recommended by Microsoft knowledgebase we updated our SQL 2005 servers with SP3 and also the cumulative update 6, but the error still occurs. Therefore I had to contact T-Mobile Blackberry support as a last chance of mine. The official answer was:

"The error "COM Error 0x80040E14 - IDispatch error #3092" can be ignored."

So at last it seems to be an BES message without (?) deranging effects...
I hope so anyway.
