The new OS is still running good for me.

That's a tad pompous isn't it? Were you always an expert or did you have to ask someone else like the rest of us?

That's because your carrier has not released this update, that's what you get with a "wireless update"--only that which your carrier has released.

If you read the initial post in this thread, you'll see how to apply this to ANY 8900 device, regardless of carrier.

I don't see you helping out ol' "Kokab" up there now, do I?

I think the guy you were replying to was just joking about that specific commentor...

i DLed and installed this latest OS, but have a few questions.

When I go to "about" on my phone, why am I only upgraded to 4.6.1.310 and Platform 4.2.0.127?
I thought the NEW OS version offered in this link is 4.6.1.456 Platform 4.6.1.310?

Thanks

Nor shall you - I too am a novice and have come here to seek help not to give it. If and when I think I can help I will do so - until then I will read and learn and ask questions of those better informed than I.

Have been running this for 4 days now. Have noticed slightly better reception, however number of dropped calls have also increased slightly.

How does that work? Better reception means less drops, doesn't it?

I seriously would not advise you to upgrade at this time until you are more comfortable with the process. It is not urgent that you upgrade right now.

Have you done the backup of the device yet?

i just have 1 question though...after i upgraded it, now when im typing there is a box on the top right corner that says EN..im guessing that means english. is there any way to turn that off? it gets kind of annoying..or do i have to downgrade to take that away?

Great, congrats, I knew those directions would be good.

You very likely have something other than english set as your default language... look at options > language and set each to the same English.
