So I have it installed now and the first thing I checked was the cam and IT WORKS!!! No more white balance probs. like in prev. versions of 4.5. I still miss my colorpearl though. Other than that it was slow at first did a hard reset and it got much quicker. no problems as of yet.

.37, .42, .44 never fried my TMo SIM on my 8100, I think the problem was with UMA phones only, I'm not completely sure

BTW, my camera is still really dark, I don't think it's fixed :(

Biggest issue on the 8100 is the camera. It's close to unusable. Pictures are either too dark or washed out.

Agreed. On a side note, I just updated my phone and the camera has NOT been fixed... still the same problems with the contrast and lack of flash.... grrr.

I find the media player Works faster then previous betas. Even the initial scan is a lil faster.

Heh well I can't say the same my scan bar still stays at nuthin and never goes. And the camera is just not useable. Which is a deal breaker for me. And the backlight still does not work blah. Wonder if there keepin some stuff like this on purpose to deter people from getting the releases. Cause its the same thing wrong all the time that they had working before. The cam for instance. All the apps on your phone are separate and don't have to much to do with each other but all of a sudden the cam don't work but all the other stuff is updated. Lol coincidence I think not !lmao

if I am wiping my BB, should I also uninstall the current version of OS that I have installed on my PC? Or is an install of the new .52 OS, coupled with a wipe of the handset all I need to ensure a fresh install?

My bar was the same. I reset my phone and it went away. Even though the progress bar doesn't show up, it did process the media.

I doubt RIM isn't fixing bugs because of beta leaks. Either they are spreading too thin and don't have the resources, the solutions are proving harder to implement, or the bugs are low on the priority list.

I would be amazed that so many builds go by with the perseverance of such known issues, but then I am reminded that its RIM... sigh.
