Default Got my Bold 9700...

Please Login to Remove!

18 months into my 3 yr. contract with Bell Mobility and my Pearl craps out on me. No warranty, no other good options available, so I splurge on the latest thing.

It's not active yet ...they tell me maybe tomorrow...so now I have a $600 MP3 player and pocket camera.

My unit came with a swivel case, which is good. Not so good is the micro-USB connector jack appears to be non-standard...so no using the cord or charge cord that came with my Pearl.

It's nice and neat...fits well in my hand. Gonna play video on it when I figure out how...

Great, so that means we're going to all have to go out and buy specific car chargers? How come none of the reviews mentioned that! :(

Please search on "microUSB" before going mental.

MicroUSB is the new mobile technologies charging standard.

Motorola makes a very inexpensive adapter...

This is not news.

K but seriously, a guy's still gotta spend more money on Gear!! Wait a minute, but If it comes with a sync cable in the box... I could just use the USB port on the usb plug charger i have in the car... Nevermind.. I'm good...

I have one of these in my car, never had a real car charger anyway... What was I thinking...

you have a $600 dollar phone. is it too much to go to an electronic store and pick up a $5 cable or mini usb -> micro usb adapter?

I didn't actually think it was that big a deal. However it does mean I have a bunch of Pearl 8130 stuff to give or throw away.

Phone is active... Video looks amazing, but a lot of stuff [menus, etc] is too small on the screen for my middle-aged eyes. Much fun will be had on my weekend getting familiarized. Going from the Pearl keyboard to a full querty setup will actually take some getting used to.

I had micro USB on my RAZR2 until I saw the light and switched to BB last April. I hated the micro on the RAZR because it had to be lined up perfectly to slide in. Plus my eyes couldn't see which side was up very well. Hope the Onyx versions are labelled.

If you can get the inexpensive adapter cables why would you have to toss anything out from the Pearl? I'm going to get the 9700 when it comes out on ATT most likely but I will get some adapters so I can use my existing chargers.
