Please Login to Remove!

If it's just folder icons you want then 4.5.0.69 will add these back. It's not released yet but...hopefully soon.

Talking Folder Icons

I have deleted the Media file (again) and I will (patiently) wait for 4.5.0.69 to get the folders icons back.

Thanks for the info.

I'm not sure why the files above wouldn't work for you, though.

Not sure either. Since I upgraded to 4.5.0.55 (rel 81) I have not had any significant problems. The only issues I have had are: 1) DM 4.5 & 4.6 trying to update - 4.5 Core Apps, Basque language and Password keeper every time I connect to DM, 2) the Device Switch Wizard (I use this to back up my 3rd party apps) does not see any 3rd party apps installed prior to 3 weeks ago and 3) the folders icons are missing even after loading the media file.

Finish the loader process all the way and it should stop asking you about the upgrade.

Tried that a couple of times but it still comes back. I saw a thread a while back where it was a known issue, so I just searched again and found an update with the fix. After following the instructions to delete some xx_eu.cod files in the OS folder, problem resolved.

So I am down to the 3rd party apps backup and the folders icon.

I wonder if the folders icon had anything to do with a 4.2 theme (BB Today Plus) that I installed and then deleted.

Even after upgrade I have realised that the device memory limit is set to 5MB. This sometimes causes the device to hang often especially when you have numerous 3rd party apps. Can this be changed before upgrade?

Hi !

I upgraded my BB with the new OS 4.5.0.69, and preloaded pictures are missing.

I follow the instruction of John by downloading the ZIP file.
But when I try to send the ALX file in my BB, a message say that nothing is available for my model of Terminal !
Of course I downloaded the 81xx file for my 8100 pearl !

What the problem ?
Thanks at lot for your help...

Mike

Well.. I put it on my BB, then I went to options/advanced options/ Apps and saw net_rim_bb_medialoader...
But where do I view them? I went to media/pictures/preloaded and they didn't show up..

Did you reboot the device by removing the battery?

You don't need a new Blackberry just because the trackball is messed up. Go to HorizonWirelessOnline.com - Horizon Wireless, The World’s Cellular Repair Center ß and order a new trackball. They're not very expensive.

Thank you JC. You saved my ass! My girlfriend was going to give me a silent treatment after I upgraded her 8310 to 4.5.0.81. I'm in good terms with her again

They are simple alx/cod type installation file and Desktop Manager is required to load them.

Simply unzip the files into a folder somewhere you won't delete them. Then use the "Add" or "Browse" feature in Application Loader and browse to the .alx file. It should add the medialoader.cod to the application loader. Click on Finish to load the files to the BB.
