Default Gmail for blackberry

Please Login to Remove!

I downloaded the Gmail for the blackberry app and I really like it. I do have one question though. Can I set it up so it will alert me if I get an email? I know that I can set up a gmail account on the bb but that mixes my gmail up with my BES corporate email in the messages box. Using the gmail app keeps everything separate and I like that; however, I do not see a way of setting it up so that it alerts me if there is an email. It will check my email but will not alert me. Any ideas on this?

Thanks.

I think you have to refresh the app to see new email. I have the app too and like the set up. But I also have my gmail pushed to my bb

I think leupi was asking for a notification for any new mail he gets via his Gmail app. I too would like to know if I am missing something. When the Gmail app fetches new mail there is no notification, audible or visual. You have to periodically open the gmail app to see if any new mail is there.

Does anyone know how (or if) to turn on a notification for new gmail?

You can't on the app...only way to get notification is to have it pushed to the device through BIS.

Wonder if you could set it up in BIS to just push the header (alerting that you have new email) and then open up the email itself in GMAIL..
