I barely make a dent in my voice plan (avg 100 min/mo), but I surf the Net at least 2 hrs a day so the unlimited data is the deal maker for me. The OP posted about text messaging and the lack of unlimited texting in US plans. I think that's because, up to a couple years ago. Americans didn't rely on text messaging nearly as much as Euros, Brits, and Asians. American kids are big time into texting, adults less so. I don't send a lot of text messages, but I get a lot in the form of sports scores, and news headlines, etc.

I think you can save yourself at least $10/month plus taxes, particularly if you only average 100 minutes per month. My $59.99 Blackberry Minutes and Mail plan gives 1000 minutes, unlimited texts and unlimited data. Or you can change from MyFaves to a regular 300 plan. That should save $10 also.

I think that most teens in the US are more into instant messaging and texting than email. They tend to look at email as something their parents use.

I'm a teen, and I love email going to my phone! No need to get on my email account on my computer anymore =D Then my dad stole my thunder by just HAVING to get a pearl also, only his was blue.. then he stole it MORE trading it for a curve.
I was the one that wanted the pearl first oddly enough, my dad wanted the tmobile dash, because he likes windows mobile, coming off of a MotoQ

I myself send around 20-30 texts a day and spend about two hours on an IM program
However, the majority of my socialising is done by email
I cant think of a real reason, but thats how it is
