First question - do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan?
Second - if your carrier is AT&T (as shown in your profile) there is no Skype client available. Skype is only available for Verizon.

Let's start at the beginning. What carrier do you have? What BB do you have and do you have a BlackBerry Data Plan.

Thanks.

No, no data plan. And do not want to get one. Want to know only if I can somehow connect to my own private network like one can do with an ipod after loading onto it the proper 3rd. party software.

If you are on at&t they will find the blackberry IMEI in their regular sweeps and add the blackberry data plan themselves.

It also looks like ATT and Skype have not come to terms on allowing it on cell phones including Iphone. their web site blog has many people waiting.

with a cracked ipod one can hook up to any private network and use skype. thought perhaps that might be possible with other devices with wifi capability.

Private network = WiFi = Internet.

The BlackBerry is different... Especially on carriers what will automatically add the BlackBerry Data Plan to your account.

May not be the right device for you.

Based on some reading of the Skype blog , Iphone does not work but try reading their blog. Someone might have done it.

Which BB do you have? The 7100g does not have WiFi capability.

you say your dissapointed but did not say if the BB is new or used. If you tried to load apps, version of OS. Maybe some details on the issue and what your doing someone can help or at least understand your problems.

You don't exactly expect someone with a carrier of motherwife to provide that level of detail. Not career. Carrier.

Brand new member to the site.

Just got my new 9800 Torch. My question is what do I need in terms of Apps/and or Downloads to view attachments sent to my email.

If I try and open a pic or vid attachment thru gmail I get this message "attachment could not be displayed".....
