hi all, my first post in these forums . . . great info.
Couple quick concerns and questions about it. It all revolves around email synchronization and I have been reading a ton about this problem. I used to have a 7520 from Nextel and have always used the desktop redirector. No BES at my company and I just feel like the BWC is too slow. Anyway, when I had my Nextel - when it first came out - I could have sworn that when I deleted an item from the Blackberry it deleted in my Outlook and vice versa.
Now, I have the 8700, running the redirector and my company runs Exchange 2003. I've read that it's pretty clear that I do not have wireless synching available via the redirector, but when I connect to Intellisync that doesn't sync items that I have deleted off the Blackberry with Outlook and vice versa. In other words, I have no way of synching my BB and Outlook even via wired USB.
Am I doing something wrong? I believe I have all of the appropriate options selected and checked. Also, was wireless sync ever an option in previous software versions?
Once again, I have never been on a BES and have always used the redirector.
Have you checked in Options under Messages? There's a setting that determines whether mail is deleted on just the handheld or on Outlook & the handheld.
Another option is to get a hosted BES, they run about $20 a month. The one I see on the sidebar now is www.mailstreet.com they seem to be the most popular also.
