Sms/email NOT SEPARATING
Please Login to Remove!
I wanted to separate my SMS and Email into their separate inboxes, but when I go into "options" and select "separate" both inboxes become strictly email.
Does anyone know why?

I have seen this error before but it was fixed with a battery pull.
Try that and if all else fairs reload OS or update to new OS for your device.

I just got my Curve last weekend. Is there an update that it wouldn't already have on it?
By "pull" do you mean get a new one? I keep having battery problems with all my phones.. :/

Haha excuse my snickering but no. In the blackberry world "pulling the battery" fixes 99% of any problem with the phone. Your battery is fine
The term "pulling the battery" just means take off the back cover of the phone and pull the battery out while the phone is ON and then place it back in to restart the phone. It usually fixes any quirkiness going on with the phone.

Well..I've done that a few times already..it didn't help. It's still only showing my emails. :(
Also, do either of you know why my Mac would recognize my BlackBerry software, but when I open it, it's blank?

What theme are you using?
Try a different one.

Mac cannot use Desktop Manager.
Therefore you cannot use sync or backup or upgrade the phone's OS using a MAC.

The only way to sync with a Mac is through third-party apps like PocketMac (free, but doesn't play well with newer Macs) or Mark/Space's Missing Sync ($40, no free trial period, no guarantees it will work better than PocketMac).
Like Midnightdraven said, there is no updating the OS without Windows. You can run Windows on a Mac in an emulator like VMware Fusion or through Boot Camp. Parallels doesn't work though. Something about the USB ports not being fully enabled or something.

I was using an iPhone theme, so I switched it back to one of the themes that came with the phone, but the problem didn't go away.

I guess I should probably try the PocketMac, then.
Thanks. :]

So...I just realized that there are three inboxes.. A "Messages" inbox, an "Email" inbox and an "SMS/MMS" inbox.
I've been using the "Messages" one because I didn't know that there was an "SMS/MMS" one.. But the "Messages" and "Emails" still don't separate between those two.
I'll just ignore them and use the "SMS/MMS" one.

all emails go into the messages icon, which is why most people hide the email one i.e. your name@domain
when seperated, the sms/mms will only go into the sms/mms folder.

And you did a battery pull after changing to one of the Dimension themes?
Weird.. What OS are you running? May want to try and upgrade.
You also setup custom searches, Alt+ (whatever letter you want) to bring up all messages of a certain type.
Options Search, Save.

More questions!
I've had my Curve for about three weeks and it's really slow, now.
I don't understand why, so I deleted the two or three things that I had downloaded onto it and it didn't make a difference. I was going to delete my inbox/ outbox for texts, but I can't find where to do that manually.
This is really frustrating because I seem to have a lot of problems no matter what phone I use. :( Help me, please!
I'm starting to consider switching to AT&T just for the iPhone, so that at least it'll work with my computer, even if the service is bad.. :/

Could you help me, again? You seem to know a lot about these phones.

Hello Im sorry to hear that your having problems with yout BB. I am a Mac dummy Im pretty sure I would fail Apple 101, But my nephew is running virtual windows on his mac and he says the desktop software runs pretty smooth. I hope this helps, as for the slowness on your berry I would try a simpler theme and make sure you dont have a lot of apps running at the same time, to find out wich ones are running go to menu> switch application and you will all the apps that your multitasking thru, choose the one that you would like to close and actually hit menu> close when you are in it. Its a good practice to do this instead of hitting the back or end button.
