Default SMS Text Signature

Please Login to Remove!

Is there any way to set a signature...like simply my name onto each SMS text I send. My girlfriend has a Samsung BlackJack2...and she has added her name to each message.

Can it be done with the BB?

No. Bb doesn't support a signature. You can set an auto text to something tho

I hate signatures in text messages. I know who you are, you don't need to sign every message.

Wirelessly posted (overwhelmingly stressed)

Never found much sense in a text signature but for some reason plenty of people feel the need to use them

Although, truthfully...I could really give a rip if some of you like a signature or not (and had nothing more productive to ad toward answering the question)...

Thanks for some at least trying to answer.

Davis,

Go into Options > Autotext, press the Menu Key and select New. Then under Replace enter 'zx'. Then under With enter what you would like your signature to be. Then at the end of every text, type zx and it will replace it with your signature. It isn't automatic, but it is a workaround.

I, too, do not see the point of this, but others do. To each their own.

Fact is...I don't see a need either, just wondering if it could be done. Thanks for the comments.

There's no "need" to do it, it's just for personalization, much like the signatures on this forum, just a way to make it more yours.

True, but the fact still remains that SMS is limited to 160 characters. Adding a signature limits that even more. And I would imagine whoever you're texting has you in their phone, so they know the text is from you. It just seems to limit you and be redundant at the same time.

I agree it wastes space, I don't use text signatures. But some people put personal messages or quotes there sometimes, rarely, so it's not necessarily an identifier either. It's really just a way for someone to say, "Hey, look at me! I'm clever/cool!"
