Hey guys! Just got back from HK! What a gr8 trip... was there for the Bledisloe Cup: NZ All Blacks vs. Aus Wallabies! I must say, witnessing the Hakka & watching Dan Carter was excellent. Even got a chance to meet with Jonah Lomu... Great atmosphere & the game was even sweeter. :D

I must say, HK has a wide range or providers to choose from. Maxis will roam with CSL as default when you're there. However, at times it'll switch to Vodafone, PCCW, etc. 3G and data services were wicked man! No dropped calls, surfing was great and running BB services were awesome. HK has one of the best mobile services in AP man. There were tons of peeps with BOLD's over there. Mostly the expat community, but all around the stadium, most were using BB. What a great community they have there.

When I switch-off the Bluetooth and WiFi, the battery last longer. I haven't charge mine for the past 48 hours.

Default Mms

Any celcom user are able to get the MMS to work on the Bold?
TIA

update: did a service books resend and the MMS sending worked. As for receiving I still get a error message first and have to re download the MMS and eventually the pic does come in.

Default Maxis too

I seem to have a problem with Maxis too - I can send MMS but not receive. I have had the service books resent.

Is there any other setting I need to change?

Cheers,

P.

Does anyone else have problems with MMS, or is it all OK with the rest of the crew?

probably time to put a call into the carrier then I guess...

I've been having some problems with Data Connectivity in my Area, Wangsa Maju/Wangsa Melawati area. Seems it's difficult to get on GPRS/EDGE/3G. It's always on GSM and once in a while it gets on EDGE. Anyone else facing similar problems? Maybe it's my area. Both the Curve & Bold are on GSM now... SIGH!!! I'm on Maxis by the way... :D

So how's everyone? Perhaps year end everyone's gone abit bz... school holidays, year end crunch and so on... :D

Anyone here bought some nifty accessories for your BOLD? I've gotten the Charging Pod from eBay. Good buy and gr8 device. I've got both my curve and bold sitting together on their respective pods. Lovely to see them on my desk... :D

Anyhow, keep in touch and upgrade to the new OS, .185 from TIM. So far so good. Free Mem is up to 50Mb+ and batt life is superb. So far it's quite stable, same as the .162 I was on...

How long is batt life on 3G? Mine last about 1 day max (16hrs) with normal usage with, talk 1hr, email&sms, some websurfing, no WiFi, no Bluetooth. Have to switch to 2G then batt will last longer. OS .190

Fella's, (same as posted on mpc)

Just got back from Pavilion. Was @ Blue Cube, just looking at new stuff they have. One section caught my attention; the BIG bunting of a BlackBerry Bold, beside it ACCESSORIES...

Went over to take a look. WOW! They have almost all of the accessories as advertised on Official RIM BlackBerry Accessories Store - Mobile phone accessory,Batteries,Headsets,Chargers,Cases,Holste rs,Handsfree, travel gear,Cell Phone,7510,7280,7230,7750,6710,7210 Some stuff that they have:

1. Charging Pod
2. Skins in all colors
3. Leather Holster (Almost all colors)
4. Leather Pocket
5. Horizontal Leather Pouch (Almost all colors)
6. Travel Charger
7. Battery
8. Battery Door (Black, Red, Blue and TITANIUM)

I couldn't resist. Although I already have the leather pocket, black skin, and charging pod, took the plunge and bought another Skin-Blue and the Battery Door ala Leather back in TITANIUM color... looks sweet on my BOLD now... hehehe...

They have a range of Curve and Pearl accessories too. Quite extensive I must say. Blue Cube & Celcom have really done their job well. Pricing of some of the items can put off some ppl. However, if you compare to those on BB's online shop, it's almost the same, so the price is about right. If you go comparing to eBay, then that's a diff story all together. Very Happy I find the price to be fair.

Head on over to Blue Cube Pavilion! You'll have a blast... hehehe...
