Default Cannot stream You Tube videos

Please Login to Remove!

Hopefully someone can shed some light on this. I have a Tour, running 5.0.0.419 and no matter what I cannot stream youtube videos on it. I've tried going to the mobile site (m.youtube.com), their regular site, and using XENZOU from App World. I've contacted my carrier (a local CDMA provider). I am defineatly connected to 3G (or 1XEV) and they say that they're not blocking access to youtube. Everytime it just says error trying to play video, with no details as to why it errored out.

I have friends on other carriers (Telus, and Rogers) and they can stream with no problems, which is strange because Telus basically uses the network that my carrier has put up.

I have also tried using other browsers (Bolt, and Opera Mini) with no luck.

My carrier claims that they are not blocking access to it, but I'm starting to think that they are.

Any ideas?

I stream YouTube perfectly on my Sprint Tour. Under Browser Options > Browser Configuration I have all the boxes checked.

Is your device a used BB? Could you have an IT Policy on it that prevents things like streaming media?

The only box that was not checked in the Browser config was allow java script, enabled that and also the all java script pop ups, and still not working.

My phone is not a used, I purchased it as soon as my Carrier got the Tours in, so I dont think its an IT policy either, but where do I go to find out for sure?

Oh, and I probably should have mentioned that I am connected to a BIS (if that matters or not)

Do you have the correct apn settings? I had to put mine in for Rogers before YouTube would work for me.

Yep, APN settings are crucial for some carriers. As a Sprint user I don't have any, but you can find a list of settings by carrier in the BBFAQ. To access them, go to Options > Advanced Options > TCP/IP.

What if my carrier isn't listed on any of the lists?

My Carrier is a locally owned and operated ISP (TbayTEL).

Oh and on my phone, and APN Settings Enabled is checked, and the Authentication Enabled is left blank, with no user or pass entered.

You'll have to call them and ask support for the TCP settings. APN, User Name, and Password.

OK, sorry for the extremely delayed response, but I finally got a chance to call my carrier and they said that because we are a CDMA network, APN settings do not apply to us, since they are using a form of IP addressing. Can anyone confirm this?

This doesn't sound right to me.
