Default Pressing some keys results in random charactors being entered

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

Pressing the back key, depressing the trackball, and the Zero key, when pressed, result in random charactors being entered into the handhelp. I've tried a battery pull, and wiping the data on the handheld.

Should I try reinstalling the handhelp software? I've seen the links to latest software in this forum. Do I just follow the instructions there, or do I need to wipe the old software first?

Thank you.

Sounds like water damage to me. You ever drop in or near a puddle or take it in the bathroom during a shower?

Ditto. Classic symptoms

Even carrying in a pocket and getting sweaty has been reported to cause trouble.

See the article at blackberryfaq.com re wet blackberry and what to do. But take out the baterry right this instant.

Ok, so me dancing with the phone in my pocket got it wet. I remember now. My wallet was damp. That would have damaged the phone.

So it's hardware damage. Thanks for the advice!

Wearing the blackberry in a holster may be nerdy, but it keeps the blackberry clean and dry.

Hi Guys, thanks for the good advice. I left the phone on the back of the Aga oven overnight and that has fixed the problem!

Nice one ! Thank you
