Calendar colours

Hi. Does anyone know what the colours applied to entries mean in the calendar on the 8800? I can't find any reference to them anywhere, and I find them very annoying and if anyone knows either the rationale behind the red, the black, the blue etc or how to remove the colours and just have black, I'd be very grateful.
