Default Bis/bes ?

Please Login to Remove!

Hello,

The functionality of BES is clearly fantastic however, if you are not on BES and use your BB on BIS for personal usage what can I expect from it??

I currently have a "Sky" and "Ukonline" email address would I be able to continue with these and would new mail be pushed to me?

Do you automatically get a BB email address as part of the BB contract? If so, does this get "pushed" to you?

Would I be able to access my bank account on line via the BB (Natwest)?

Would I be able to have any kind of calandar sync. with my PC?

Regards.

If those email accounts support POP or IMAP... yes, you'll be able to integrate them with BIS and have them pushed to your BlackBerry.

Yes, if you want one. I recommend against using it, as there's no way to control spam on it.

That's up to your bank.

Only via USB cable. No wireless calendar sync with BIS.

With Google or Yahoo mail delivery is instantaneous.

The BlackBerry is a smartphone so can install third party software. You can backup/restore. etc.

Google has GCALSYNC for wireless calendar synchronization. I don't use it so not sure how good it is. Not sure what Yahoo has.

You can see the BB's specs at Blackberry.com. There's probably a very tiny percentage of people (if any) that could do a comparison on BB vs N95 for you. Your question is also a bit subjective. I'm sure there are plenty of people that prefer the N95 over a BB.

Most of us prefer the BB because it is a very reliable push email device.

Perhaps rather than trying to justify the BB on its own you should outline your needs/wants and we can specifically address how the BB meets or doesn't meet those points.
