Were you also one of the people who didn't believe me and HAD to verify this? LOL

On .11 if you initiate any remote control commands, the screen goes blank and the sound pauses for a long time (5 seconds or so) everytime you do it. It's annoying especially if you are navigating your DVR's guide menu.

.2 is much better a with using the remote and not blanking the screen.

The only problem that I've noticed is that if I select "Audio Only", the SlingPlayer for Blackberry Mobile seems to do nothing and gets stuck in this phase. The only way that I was able to get out of it and continue using it was to exit the program and delete it and reinstall it.
This happened to me also. I reinstallled and worked.

lmcjipo,
There is a valid URL from sling's website that still has the old 1.0.0.2 BOLD jad OTA download. I found it on another Blackberry forum site. I'm reluctant to post it publicly here because I don't want it to disappear .

If you contact me via e-mail or PM I'll tell you where it is.

Current supported devices - 9000,8900,8820,8350i,8320,8220,8120 - all wifi-enabled models

If you attempt to browse to the spm-bb client on an unsupported device, the beginning of your user agent string - say Blackberry9700, BlackBerry9630, will be examined and prevent you from getting to the .jad file. However, direct links to the actual .jad files bypass the device qualification checks.

BlackBerry8900/5.0.0.xxx will work since the 8900 is a supported device. If you changed the user agent string on your desktop browser to Blackberry8900 you could also navigate to the .jad file for your desired country after you delete your slingmedia cookie and choose a country of choice.

Thanks. I think that I'll keep my v1.0.0.11 since I'm fine with the performance and don't feel the need to downgrade.

Version number ending 11 and with US in the title.

I'm in the UK on the O2 network. Just got my phone bill for February and noticed a couple of large connections not included in my blackberry plan. Phoned them up and got these removed from my bill. Discovered that the Slingbox software was the issue so you may need to check your Slingbox connection settings

Ha! Well, I seemed to have missed this thread and tried the Listen mode today.

Reinstalling now....Suckage. I was on the beta team for this a while back but it has since been disbanded and I've no idea if they're even working on new versions. They had some major "personnel" issues and I think the beta program suffered immensely.

I installed v1.0.0.13 several days ago. Had to download the "30 day trial" version first then upgrade to my normal account by entering a registration number from an email I recieved 2 yrs ago when I first purchased the program. Works great on 3G and UMA, I have also used the "audio only" mode and have had no problems. Now to make this AWESOME would be the ability to use a mono bluetooth headset to listen to my slingbox (dont really care to use it for phone calls but that would be a bonus). Anyone with any experience on this?

Yes, the new v1.0.0.13 doesn't have the "audio only" mode problem that I reported earlier. I tested it out and this version is better than the v1.0.0.11 that I was using earlier.

Default I keep getting stuck on Optimizing...

and then after a minute or so the app Disconnects. I had it working on my 8900 version .11 that is, and upgraded to .13 when I installed in the 9700, if that matters. Any idea how to fix this? I have read others with 9700's have the same "Optimizing" freeze but no solutions are suggested.

I have it running fine on a 9700. Of course, the control functions are slow, but they are on my laptop as well. Nature of the beast.

You don't mention what OS you are running on the 9700. I seem to remember some issues with some of the earlier builds. It's fine on 5.0.0.680.

If you are responding to me, I too am running .680. Perhaps it doesn't like my Linksys E1000 router. Of course the ""up to date" Sling software doesn't even list that fairly new router so I let the Sling setup software tell me what settings it suggested for Port Forwarding: 192.168.1.254 for IP Address, External and Internal Ports 5001, Protocol Both TCP and UDP

All I get is some garbled sound followed soon by a disconnect.

I'm running SPM 1.0.0.2 on my TMO 9700 with 5.0.0.680 and I'm running into problems. It takes a while for SPM to load and start playing the stream and now occasionally I'm hearing a few seconds of audio studder upon start up and then I see a message: "Uncaught exception: Application net_rim_media(49) is not responding; proccess terminated". Once that error messgage occurs, the 9700 will NOT play any audio at all untill I do a battery pull.

This never happened on 5.0.0.593. I'm very close to reverting back to that OS because SPM is just too unstable with 680.
