I fixed it myself.. I logged into blackberry internet service from my computer and sent the service books to my phone.

Also anyway to get the sprint or verizon themes to work?

* Note: I have also included modified Platform.alx and LBS.alx files. The modified Platform.alx file is for Cingular users with PTT service enabled on their accounts. If you are not a Cingular customer and do not have PTT enabled on your account, do NOT use this modified Platform.alx. The instructions for installation are the same as the BlackBerry.alx file. This *should* allow the installation of the PTT software on the handheld. As to whether or not it would work, that's up in the air. The modified LBS.alx is for Cingular users only, as something was disabled in the default package for the Cingular-branded 8800 devices.
Jibi, I unlocked the themes but I did not use the LBS file. (I didn't read your entire note b4 extracting the files) I have a cingular 8800. What effect will this have on my bb? Any?

I completely wiped the os, reloaded a fresh copy of the cingular os (without the language support) and started over. Worked great. Now I have my Vodafone Today theme and because I didn't reload the language support I have 34M free space instead of 27M.

There are multiple ways of doing this! The first step is to read the FAQ on this site. It tells you to SEARCH the forum as a prerequisite. Most of the folks here are quite friendly, but when a question is asked that is asked so often the Moderator has a Sticky Thread right under the General 8800 Series Discussion about that very topic - with full instructions mind you, and you don't see it (or choose not to see it), then you can expect not to get a lot of answers.

Seeing that you are new here and I was at one time too, here is the link:

http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...es-8800-a.html

Please be mindful and look around abit and use the search function. You will find that most of your questions have already been answered a zillion times.

Good luck.

You could if you modify the blackberry.alx to unlock just that one, but why not just install all of them. You don't have to use the others if you don't want to.

You have to used the modified blackberry.alx file. Follow the link in my signature and read that thread. Let us know if you still need help after that.

I just ordered an 8800 and was wondering if the theme that is in all of the pr photos is available. Is this a modified Zen theme (which it looks like), or is it all just photoshop fodder?

Thanks!

I have not been able to find this anywhere. I don't think it exists. I would imagine this is a photoshop job for marketing.

It doesn't appear to be possible. I know what you mean about getting your eyes checked... and all the 'cool' that comes with using the 8800 goes right out the window when you have to whip out a magnifying glass to read the screen.

I'd like to download some themes, but it is saying that the "themes are not currently supported for software version". What do I do to enable that? (unlocked Cingular 8800 on Rogers network)

Are you following Jibi's instructions for installation? At what point do you see that error message?
Themes posted here seem to be for version 4.2.1.109/4.2.1.72 or 4.2.1.110/4.2.1.73 O2 UK; what version is your device running?
