I got over the 8100 and 8800 quickly, I know the 8300 will be better! Just two to three weeks and we will be using it!

I think with a name like "cellguy" you should have BOTH!

I'm leaning towards the 8300 but only if I can work a deal (just got the 8800, so I can't upgrade).

I'm with Takeshi, GPS on the 8800 is just too damn handy.

Same here. I enjoy the GPS functionality. I am waiting for better things.

I just want GPS and a good camera. Is that too much to ask?

Default Tough call

I have 5 apps on my 8800 that use GPS and cameras on Blackberrys are not so great. The only reason I would go to the 8300 is because its new and something different. I have a feeling I will use it and then go back to the 8800. I love how I can zoom in on my location with google maps satellite view using GPS. It actualy shawed the park bench I was sitting on. When I showed it to my freind the first thing he did was look up into the sky. Good thing I am the BES admin and have to test all the models.

Oh an I am not interested in carrying a puck around.

Just out of curiosity, how do you use the GPS in your 8800? I have an in-dash navigation system and therefore don't care about the GPS functionality in the BB, but for the cost of the service coupled with a tiny screen (the one in my car is a 7" screen) it seems to me like it wouldn't be that useful. I'm not trying to start an argument here or anything; I'm genuinely curious to know if you really find you can navigate around using just the phone.

Default Many reasons!

That's good when you are in your car but what if.
1) your not in your car maybe a freinds car and you want to get directions.
2) In a taxi if the cabby does not know where to go or you just want to see if he is taking you for a ride.
3) you've traveled to another city and want to use inforspace to find a resturaunt etc.
4) you want to play with the sattelite maps in google. (This is more fun then usefull)

I am sure there will be more uses as apps come out in the future.

The 8300 will do all of this but you have to carry that $100 puck everywhere and have it charged which for me will not happen.

I would've agreed with all your reason until I realized that, prior to my 8800, I didn't have GPS, and managed just fine.

When I'm not in my car, or in any of the first three scenarios you describe, I simply pull out Beyond411. It serves my needs quite well.

I would also agree with you but then I managed just fine before the Blackberry was ever invented. To each their own.

I was on the fence with both as well. I was just on a business trip where I depended on my 8800 GPS a lot. I am sure I can manage not having GPS, but man it was helpful. It's definitely the new killer app in my opinion. Even though I really want a camera as well, I am not sure I would give up GPS. Too bad the 8300 doesn't have both.

I'm dying for the 8300. I just want it to be released for T-Mobile soon.

Who needs GPS, when you have a Garmin system?
