I have one entry in Contacts on my Bold that I cannot delete. I select delete but the entry remains in Contacts. When I attempt editing the entry (hoping to alter the entry in some way that would allow for a delete), and try to save the edit, I get a message that says "Contact updated externally. Changes will be lost and the viewer closed." I'm then unable to exit Contacts and have to shut the device off. When I return, the edits were not saved.
I've tried removing the battery while the device is powered on, but to no avail. I'm a BIS / Mac user, using Missing Sync, which tagged the problem for me. I've deleted the contact from my Address Book on my Mac, but again, to no avail.
Any assistance on removing the rogue entry would be greatly appreciated. If there is a way to wipe only the device Contacts, I'm willing to do that, but would need instruction.
Thanks for the suggestion. Seems to have cleared up after I overwrote the device contacts with the desktop. The rogue entry is still there, but for some reason it's allowing the sync to happen without error.
