Hello all, my first post. I've been wanting an 8310 for quite a while, but my contract with AT&T wasn't due to expire for another fifteen months. I went the eBay route, looking for an unlocked device only to get nosed out at the end of bidding. The new unlocked Curves were going for about $325, some a bit higher, and reading between the lines some "new" Curves seemed to me that they might be refurb units.
On a whim I stopped at a local AT&T store while doing some last minute Xmas shopping. The 8310 was listed at $349 with an existing contract. I figured, what the heck, and went for the price. The manager checked out my account and knocked the price down to $213 without the car charger, Blue Tooth device and a better case than comes in the box. The original salesman said store managers could do deals. I was also informed of a $100 rebate, making the final price $113. I had to re-up for a two year contract, which was no big deal seeing as how AT&Ts been my carrier for many years.
Not too shabby. Love the 8310, don't know how I did without one.
