causes my blackberry to freeze - get warnings encouraging me to delete some apps

is there a program to maximize memory "on the fly" which operates in the background

also does the gmail enhanced plug in for email take up a lot of memory - I am not sure what features this plug in really adds but if deleting it will save some memory maybe I should forgoe

The 8100 series has very little available memory compared to other BBs and is prone to memory leaks. A battery pull every so often will help.

Your profile says you have an 8100, yet you have posted in the 9700 device forum.
Please confirm which device you have, and update your profile if necessary.

You would have to have a TON of apps installed and/or pictures saved to the device in order to run low on memory on the 9700. More than likely the OP posted in the wrong forum.

sorry - I was away for a few weeks

I have a 9700 and still have memory issues

keep in mind I have a second language ( hebrew) installed so that may grab memory
list of apps
twitter app, gps step by step navigation program , a few e-books ,

my free memory ( as displayed in settings/ status) is anywhere between 4-7 bytes

why is my memory so low ?

You have a lot of programs in memory. Try a battery pull and see if that helps.
