A client is able to open MS word .doc files that were sent to them last Thursday, but when they attempt to open MS world .doc's that were sent to them this morning; this apparently includes others in the office who are on the same BES Express they are not able to open them. I had one of the users send themself a .docx document and they were able to open that file but still could not open the .doc's files from this morning.

Any ideas why this is?

What do you mean by "they are not able to open them"? Please post the exact error message here.

Also, BES Express can handle .doc files and .docx files, so it should work.

On the newser devices you have the choice if you just want to view the file with the internal file viewer of if you want to use "Word To Go" to edit the file. Are you saying it does not work with both options?

The person gets "unrecognized document format" when they open the word docs in question. They can open the same documents in their Office 2010 through their MS Outlook without any problems.

Hmm, you may want to check RIM's website. I think MR4 resolves this issue.
