I see where you're going, and I agree for the most part.

I kinda hope they don't.

The majority of users don't give a crap about having the most secure device. They want a smartphone which they can use for basic productivity and install a bunch of apps to add value to their handheld. They want the iPhone and Android phones. Nobody wants a BlackBerry handheld anymore, and RIM is finally accepting that.

RIM can't wait around for people to come back, no matter how "cool" they think BB 10 will be.
They need to focus on retaining what enterprise market they have left, and that seems to be what the new CEO is planning to do.
IMO, it's too late for that too.
Sorry I dont own an Iphone

My comment was about how no matter what news comes out about RIM there will be somebody somewhere putting a negative spin on it. Damned no matter what they do because right now RIM is the technological "whipping boy". I also never stated I wanted "all happiness" or even expected it. I enjoy different opinions even if I don't agree. I just don't like constant negativity. Not a fan of random bashing of anything and I am not saying you personally are guilty of that. Just that there seems to be a lot of it in general. To each their own.
I don't happen to think Playbook was a "HUGE" error but I do understand why many think that it is. I just don't happen to agree. The "HUGE" mistake in my opinion was in the too early release of it and just about all of the marketing of the device. Not too many of the "general" public know what it is other than it is NOT an iPAD. My opinion only of course. Again to each their own.

For one thing this thread shows a lot of different ideas and thoughts on where RIM is going.

Something tells me the RIM board meetings of the past few years were a lot like this thread, and a few others on this site.

"we're losing market share to the new phones. we need to do something"
"stop being negative and critical!" repeat for rest of meeting.

Well I can't say what does or doesn't happen in a RIM board meeting but if it was anything like this board or even this thread then it would be "let's take apart every little thing every person says and run with it, misinterpret it and basically shut down any real appreciation of diverse opinions" The discussion stops because of it.

There are plenty of boards which shut down any anti-RIM or anti-PlayBook discussion. Perhaps you would be happier there.... There are dozens of happy PlayBook customers around.

I am sure there is plenty you can misinterpret on those boards.

I love my PlayBook and I do not want an iPhone or a Maldroid (malware magnet android). I will stay with BlackBerry phones as long as they are available. But to each their own. ((shrug))

Bah! i say finish what you start then move on, I think the Playbook need another update than go ahead and scrap it but as long as mine still work :p Indeed flash is a power eater, and crap they ended flash for mobile...but still..it's there now and it works. Same goes for the phones amp them up

Frankly I dont mind the playbook, not just because i have one but because there just had to be an alternative to the none-flash-capable-iPad.

Again you are the one to misinterpret what I say. I have never said I wanted nirvana on RIM discussions or anything of the sort. I would just prefer intelligent discussion of opinions good or bad, rather than random bashing with no basis. I don't post a lot on here mainly for that reason.
Oh and by the way, my company has over 10,000 Playbooks and we love them for our business. We want tools, not toys and security is a huge concern. Playbook fits that bill and then some. Nothing else could touch it for our business. While I agree it isn't the solution for everyone or every business it definately is for ours.

No more from me on this thread. Those who want to bash and pick on people rather than opinions will continue to do so. Carry on.

I have everything Apple !!! but when it comes to a phone & email there's only one for me Blackberry ... I've tried over and over to use an iPhone but for me it SUCKS . if i want to hear music -ipod touch , movies on the go ipad , there's something about using the phone playing games or playing music that just doesn't feel right ... Try listening to music while driving and answer the iphone its a PIA.
Just as i was writing my wife's iphone 4shit just shut off , this is due to a faulty sensor when your iphone goes to voicemail , So she can get a ride with my kid who's iphone 4shit camera doesn't work anymore ..
