Default Blackberry 8820 - Help?

Please Login to Remove!

I MEANT THE 8820!

I am unsure if I should be buying a Blackberry 8820 or not.
I currently own a Nokia E71 that works very well for me.

All of my friends are using Blackberry's and they all want me to get BBM.
I am considering switching to Blackberry and I found a nice cheap one for £50 on eBay.

One question I need to know:
Is it possible to be able to use Internet/Email/Facebook/BBM etc on a Pay As You Go?

I was looking through the 02 website and found a bolton that was specifically for Blackberry:
puu.sh / eOLJ

Would this work fine for my device?
I would greatly appreciate it if somebody could do some research on the phone I am/may about the buy, because I don't want to buy it and it ending up not working.

Thanks.
Cain.

You should not purchase an 8800. It is very old. You should go to an O2 shop and purchase a 9360 at the minimum, but you would be better purchasing a 9900.

You will absolutely need the bolt-on for any BlackBerry device to function properly.

But does that mean I will be able to use everything I specified above, including BBM even when I am not connected to a Wifi network?

Also, why should I not be buying an old one, it works doesn't it? ..

I apologise, I meant the 8820.
Would that apply to the Bolt on?

The 8820 is also very old now. If your needs are simple, it would be ok for email and BBM, provided you have BlackBerry data service on your account. But the browser will likely not be satisfying, and the lower memory will prevent you installing more than just a few apps.

You need to ask the service provider if it sells blackberry data service on the plan you want.

And it will be very slow - EDGE only, but it does have WiFi access.

In any case, as said above, you will need a BB data plan added to your account for it work correctly and have all the features available
