Default Do I Have a Bad 9700?

Please Login to Remove!

Periodically my 9700 would not receive calls or SMS and MMS messages. I now have a new SIM card (as recommended by AT&T). I don't seem to have that issue now but the phone seems to freeze at times (mostly text messages and sometimes while using the Internet). Today after freezing when texting I got the following message:
"uncaught exception Application net_rim_bb_messaging_app(86) is not responding; process terminated"

I was at home with Wi-Fi when this happened. What is going on? Do I need to return my phone (I have had it less than a year)?

What software versions do you have on your phone?

the reason for that error is usually software crashing or interfering with some of the bb's main software.

What 3rd party apps do you have installed?

I am running 5.0.0.602 (Platform 5.1.0.112) I was not using anything but SMS/MMS when it froze and the message appeared.

Yep. Update. Also, youve got a 3rd party app or something thats crashing some critical BB application thread.

updating might fix the bug / condition that is causing this.

I have noticed also on .586 that this happens (Has happened to me about 3 times in the last couple of months)...

It will just go straight to answerphone. If I remember correctly, I couldn't make outgoing calls either. Battery pull fixes it though
