Ok. I have now wiped teh device clean, and installed 2.3.2. My current location is currnetly unavailable. Now matter what google maps i have now with out the GPS on, my phone will not do cell tower triangulation.

Anyone else yet?

Tell that to people with an 8330 or 8703e...

As I said, Google Maps will not lift restrictions put in place by VZW.

I'm runnin OS 4.5 on my Pearl...I recently upgraded to GMM 3.0.1 with latitude and have noticed a DRASTIC change in my battery life.

I signed out of latitude and exited (actually hit exit not just closing the window) GMM and my battery life is still garbage.

Before install of 3.0.1 it would last 2-3 days (depending on use), now it lasts MAYBE 13 hours...

Anyone else notice this?

You need to make sure you do Exit and suspend sharing. If you choose Exit and continue sharing, it's going to keep constantly updating your location to the Latitude server - and kill your battery quickly.

Guys as far as I am aware verizon unlocked GPS For all devices at or around 12/15/2008. x-coworkers verizon curve / 2 current co-workers storms work fine using 3rd party gps ..(maybe now w/ storm possibly bbmaps as well)

Finally after about 5 years ..they made it accessible afaik to all verizon bb's.

Thumbs up Maps and driving directions for Israel!

How can I put in a specific long/lat that I already know into Google Maps Mobile so I can see the area in my BBerry? I swear there was a way that was like @long;@lat or something but I can't find it anywhere.

EDIT: Installed 3.0.1 and am blown away! Maps of Israel, driving directions in English AND Hebrew.

In the search just type the longitude, a comma and the latitude.
e.g. -17.9250,25.85454
Where
Longitude = -17.9250
Latitude = 25.85454
