You probably need a tethering plan. Call Verizon and ask.

Verizon isn't "blocking it". You just need to add it to your account and pay for it.

$20 for 2GB then $20 per GB after that

You could buy Tether. It is a one-time buy (no monthly fees). I use it, with Verizon, and so far haven't been charged monthly tethering fees. I'm not saying you will never be charged tethering fees, but so far so good.

I was thinking about it, but then I saw that verizon isn't letting playbook users bridge the berry to tether and r getting the same screen i was so now i am just afraid that the same thing will happen with tetherberry and don't feel like spending the $50

The point is you need to pay for it, like the rest of us do.
