You can use MMS on sprint with the 8830, 8330, and 8130 as well. You need OS 4.5 to have MMS capabilities. The tour should have this feature as well.

MMS messages come in as a link that you have to click on and it directs your BB Browser to their page where you can view the message.

Interesting. I compose MMS messages on my Sprint 8330 pretty often without issues. I am sure someone with a Tour on Sprint will confirm this for you.

I can send MMS messages, but they don't go through to other phones. I can't receive any right now. I tried this with a T-Mobile BB 8320 and an AT&T iPhone 3GS.

I can send email messages with picture attachments just fine, and those work fast & great (just send to the user's cell phone email address that they have from their carrier).

Default No problems detected...

I sent my first MMS on Wednesday when I received my Tour and it went through immediately to my daughters phone. I haven't tried to send to anyone not on the Sprint network yet...

i have the 8330 and mine works well with any cell. I do know that tmobile blocks alot of stuff. I had the blackberry pearl and i couldnt watch youtube on it, however a sprint user or at&t user could and then i learned it was because tmobile blocked it. I really dont understand why some carriers wont allow it and others can. To me if the phone is capable of it then it should be able to use it to whatever it is capable of doing.

It does come through as a link? I thought I read on a forum that the Tour shows the picture in the message rather than the link. Kind of disappointing, but not a huge deal.

Default Unbelievable!

I did a few tests after reading this and I CANNOT successfully send MMS messages to other wireless carriers networks. Very disappointing!

On my Curve 8330, I was able to send MMS to anyone with a wireless phone, but I sent 10 messages to 10 separate people (non-Sprint) and all reported that they'd received nothing from me. I re-tried all the messages a second time and still nothing.

I did, however, have those same people send me random pics from their phones and I received each one. Good thing is upon opening the messages, your picture and text is immediately displayed, so no longer following the link to Sprint PictureMail to preview and read the message.

I hope this is fixed soon... (so far, my ONLY issue with the Tour and I'm sure it's carrier related.)

sounds more like an issue with the other carriers - perhaps the other person doesn't have MMS on their account. Have you also reset your text plan so that it enables MMS and you have resent service books?

@southwestcomm
I've tried it all... Deleted service books, had them resent, etc. The wireless phones I sent my messages to were people that I'd previously sent to from my Curve. I'm patient and just waiting for the fix (I guess).

I did, however, contact Sprint and advise them of my issue. They had me do the normal stuff with the service books and battery pull (5.5 minutes!!!); nothings worked so I'm just sending to the other persons carrier e-mail address for now.

If anyone finds a fix, PLEASE post!

Thanks!

I sent an MMS with my Tour to my son's T-Mobile phone and it went through no problem. Same thing for an MMS to a Verizon BlackBerry a buddy has. I have the $70/month Everything BlackBerry plan.

Just getting my Tour for work all set up (damn, do I want to upgrade my personal device now!).

The MMS works great between me and my son (both on Sprint). In fact, when we sent me a picture, there is no longer a link - the picture comes thru in full screen. YAY!!

When sending MMS, no issues. When receiving MMS, it comes through like an SMS with photo. No link to go through the browser.
