Default What carrier/when?

Are there any strong hints about which carrier (T-Mobile as it has no 3G?) and timeframe that is expected for the Javelin?

Then that begs the question, as an AT&T subscriber, if I was willing to buy the Javelin at full price from T-Mobile, would they even be willing to sell it to me? Or would I have to find it from another source?

Will AT&T be getting the Javelin within a reasonable amount of time?

I doubt AT&T will be getting the Javelin as they're already intent on bringing out the Bold from the production facilities.

You should be able to get it at retail. That's how I got my 8320 from T-Mobile.

Why would you pigeon hole your self into one new device for the next 6 to 8 mos or so. It may come out of TMO first, but I don't they will be the only carrier to get it. Not to mention the fact the Bold is simply too big a device for many users, myself included.

That's why I said "I doubt." Or did you want me to change it to "I am not sure?"

As long as Tmo gets it, and soon. Because I am so excited about getting my hands on this BB. I been waiting for a legitimate upgrade to my Curve and this phone looks to be just that!

9 times out of 10 AT&T will get this device. Remember this is REPLACING the Curve. I cannot see AT&T not carrying RIM's newest product line. IMO.

If 3G wasn't a big deal to me for T-Mobile, I'd get the Javelin as it is the logical upgrade from my Curve.

But I believe ATT will carry this phone but there is another unlikely option. ATT gets the Javelin, but with 850/1900 3G for ATT. They could also put tri-band in and add $25 to $50 to the cost of the Javelin.

Okay - I can't see any news on release timing for 2 or 3 weeks now. Has anyone seen any updates from T-Mobile or other carriers on possible release dates? I guess the Bold problems could be viewed as either hurting or helping the Javelin release date. It hurts if resources are being turned to work on Bold problems. It helps if the Bold problems are just too big and RIM can release the Javelin as a smoke screen for the Bold problems.

Yep the Niagara according to reports. The only question is what kind of chip-set will come in the Javelin?

On a similar note, the 3G problems might help bump up the sales of the jav over the bold. I know ill be replacing my bold with the javelin as soon as i can.

I think AT&T will get this, just not for a while.

I think T-Mo will eventually get the Bold, or a variation of it as well. Just not when AT&T does.

If this phone really is replacing the Curve, no doubt AT&T will get it. They carry more Blackberries than any other carrier don't they?

Some EMS pushed out (end Q4 08) Javelin production.
So I think we have to wait until Q1 09.
