Hi all,

Today, I made my first install of a BES v4.0 in a Domino environnement.

- I registered the Domino (v6.0) in the Domino Domain
- I installed the new Domino server on a separate machine, as an additional server.
- I did all the installation guide tells.
- I installed the BES v4.0, started the Domino server, all is ok. The SRP connection is ok. The entreprise activation of a user works fine.

- The user can receive his emails, the wireless synchro of the calendar works well.



BUT THE USER CANNOT SEND ANY EMAIL.
When he tries to send an email, I can see the following error outputs on the Domino screen:
(Let us say that he tries to send an email to )

"No route found to domain yahaa.com. Check Server, connection and Domain documents in Domino Directory".

I checked many many times all the documents on the Domino Directory side, but I did not find any thing.

CAN ANYONE HELP ME ???

I'll assume the new server (BES) is in the same Notes Named Network..LocalDomainServers...and all that good stuff
Is the user able to send from his notes client without issues? Are the issues only related to sending from the device?
Have you tried pulling a new replica of the NAB onto the BES server?
Maybe try running "updall -R" on the address book (NAB) on the BES server to rebuild the routing tables.
What server is used as your mail gateway server? Have you tried running a "trace servername/organization-name" from the BES server console to that mail gateway server? What does the output say?

Have you tried to setup a connection document even if they are in the same NNN?

Make sure you dont have any DNS error upon starting the Lotus Domino Console on the BES..

i HAVE the same issue as you do...i edited the registry on windows 2000 with sp4 or you can place the DNS server ip on the notes.ini.

I suggest you apply the bes patches..to avoid any errors...in the future..

In your Configuration Document for the Domino Server (Configuration - Servers - Configurations), check the setting under Router/SMTP - Basics - SMTP used when sending messages outside of the local internet domain. This should be set to Yes. I believe that should do the trick.

Do a "trace servername/organization" from the BES domino console and see if it successfully connects to your mail gateway server(s). Are you using a separate SMTP gateway server? Check the NAB for the connection docs that are in place and try the above trace.
Since you are already able to route mail from your domain to the internet, and the BES is simply an additional server in the DNN, have a look at your current mail servers and the routing paths in place.

Or heres what you can do about it..

Edit your NOTES.INI then on the second line..

Put this...

DNSSERVER=your public dns ip....

This should work..

Or you can edit the registry to add the public DNS entry..

Is the "Configuration Document" in the Domino Administrator somewhere? I can't find it. Sorry if this is a newb question.

Yes, the config is on the last tab in the Domino administrator.

What is your smtp server in your config doc? It needs to know how to route email to your smtp server.

To expound on what i stated above, the setting in the config document that talks to our SMTP Server

Is this error for just external mail or internal mail? How many domino domains are connected to your BES.

I am getting the same error. We have a connection document setup to what we think it should be.

I can also successfully do a "trace".

It processes all domains (like yahoo) but not ours.

This is our first second Domino server...I'm sure its something in the connection document.

6.5.4 version.

Any ideas?

Check if the schedule is enabled in the server connection documents.
