I have a Blackberry 8800 GSM phone on AT&T. Since it is almost 3 years old and I am considering a new one, I may go 3G. What I want to know is whether that nasty "buzz" that GSM phones cause in any nearby audio equipment is present in the newer 3G phones as well? That alone would be a motivation for me to upgrade. Also, what new Blackberry (3G) is most like the 8800 "look and feel" ?
I'm in Vermont & I to use have an irritating buzz until AT&T finally got 3G up here. Now that we have 3G there is no "buzz" interference to any other electronics.
Depends on the frequency with EDGE/GSM. 850 is pretty bad. 1900 can have buzz but it is nowhere near as bad as 850. 850 devices can cause interference typically around 6 feet or so. My 1900 devices have to literally be on top of a speaker to cause buzzing.
Can't speak for 3G as my 8310 is the newest BB that I have.
With 3G there is little to no interference compared to EDGE devices...but sometimes your 3G device may drop down to EDGE and you will start to hear the interference again.
